Classes begin in earnest

Using our newly acquired Windows 8 laptops, kindly sponsored by Dick Smith, has been a challenge to many of us - tutors and students alike!

DORA at the Pier

DORA was successful in providing wifi via her massive mast to the registration team at the start of the Sandcastle Competition on Saturday. This meant that registrations could be entered directly onto a Google Doc. Using the online environment also helped speed up the process when it game to gathering results and calculating winners. Ideally, judges should have digital devices on the beach with them as they are judging. This would totally eliminate the need for all that paper!!!  Maybe next year......  It was wonderful to be able to test DORA's capabilities in this way, and to support the Pegasus Bay Trust.
