Dora's power design

Dora has many options for power. She has solar panels on her roof which feed the deep cycle batteries; a generator and ship to shore. The inverter is pivotal in this system.

DORA, Mobile Digital Learning Centre

With support from InternetNZ, 2020 Communications Trust converted a beautiful old school bus into a hi-tech mobile learning centre in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Dora was purchased from Central Motorways Ltd in Alexandra where she had operated as a school bus since 1985. She has been reinvented as a mobile digital learning centre, to support our Stepping Up classes in Christchurch, as since the quakes, venues at schools were limited, and transport often unreliable. With our independent mobile learning centre, we can take our digital learning to any venue.
